Floatation therapy, also known as Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy (REST) is a simple, proven holistic health treatment for the mind and body.

An isolation tank, usually called a sensory deprivation tank is a lightless, soundproof tank filled with salt water at skin temperature, in which individuals float.

Catering to all preferences, Pinch Salt & Float offers both the isolation pod and floatation pool experiences. Our floatation pool can also be booked for couples appointments.

How it works?

Floatation therapy involves the use of an enclosed spa like tank, usually called a sensory deprivation tank and is a lightless, soundproof tank filled with salt water at skin temperature, in which individuals float.

Due to the amount of epsom salt in the water, buoyancy of the body occurs, supporting and removing the effects of gravity, leaving you feeling completely weightless and allowing your entire body to relax.

I suffer from claustrophobia, can I still float?

Yes. You may find our floatation pool the best way to start and when you are ready move to using the isolation pod, either open and/or when you are ready, closed.

How often should I have a float?

While you can float every day without harm, we find that the relaxing effects of a one-hour float typically last beyond that day. For best results, regular sessions are recommended with many finding that floating once or twice a week provides the most benefits.

What should I wear?

You are required to thoroughly shower before entering the pod / pool and then again after your float to remove the salt solution.

Most people don't wear anything when they float – just think of the tank as a big bathtub – though you can wear a swimsuit if you prefer.

We recommend loose fitting, comfortable clothing and slip on shoes be worn to and from your appointment.
